Background Check

To ensure that South Bay is providing safe leaders and safe homes to the people and families of the church, we require a background check to be submitted for all our small group leaders as a measure of protection and accountability. We partnered with Checkr, to provide an easy, simple way to fulfill this responsibility.

Any findings that may arise do not automatically disqualify you from leadership. We will handle each check with grace, understanding that God changes the hearts of his people.

Discipleship

Leading a small group is more than simply providing a space for people to meet. Becoming a small group leader is an agreement to help people take the next steps in their life with Christ. We ask that you help others find their spiritual gifts and encourage your members to be an active participant in the church.

We ask that leaders raise up new leaders out of their groups. We want to see disciples that go out and create more disciples for Jesus Christ.

Lastly, we ask that all groups participate in one serve project together per semester. This is to help grow spiritually in the servanthood that Christ showed in his life here on earth.
