Water Baptism

South Bay believes a water baptism is an act of obedience for a believer who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. We follow the example Jesus set for us as stated in Matthew 3:13-17. Water immersion is an outward expression of your inward faith. If you have never been water immersed or you would like to rededicate your life to Jesus we encourage you to sign up today!

What does the baptism look like?
We typically use a large tub full of water for baptisms and hold them either during service or after service.

Does it have to happen on a Sunday? What if I'm not physically able?
No, not at all! Get in touch with your small group leader, or a Pastor to look into other creative options. We've seen baptisms done in pools, lakes, the ocean, and more.

When should children be water baptized? Here are some questions to ask...

• Do they recognize their need?
• Have they prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior?
• Have they demonstrated genuine change to be more like Jesus?
• Have they shared their testimony with others?
